Bands to join bikes at Rugby town centre festival

The sound of bikes and bands will fill the town centre on Sunday May 18 as part of the first Rugby BikeFest.

The Vault, which is organising the music for the festival, has put together aline-up which promises to appeal to all music tastes. The Bikefest will take place in Market Place, High Street and Sheep Street between 10.30am and 3pm.

Performing on the day will be Banned, Blank Paradigm, Morningstar, The Rattletones, Keltik Fish, Hollie Aires, Go Primitive, Dead Frequency and Spitfire. Bands will be on stage from 11am onwards. See for more information.

The free family friendly festival is an opportunity to celebrate a variety of motorcycles from vintage to modern, British and beyond. Displays and owners will be on hand to reveal the history of the bikes and answer any questions. Anyone interested in displaying their bike should email
There will also be food and children’s activities, including a bouncy castle, quad bikes, the ‘unrideable bike’ and face painting. Anyone who owns a motorbike and would like to join the ‘Ride-In’ can register their details.

Aftab Gaffar, managing director of organiser Rugby First, said: “With less than three weeks to go there is a real buzz about the event. Even if you are not a bike enthusiast the event promises a great day for all the family with a superb music programme, family entertainment, food and of course an amazing array of old and new motorcycles.”

The festival is funded through Warwickshire County Council’s Operation Footfall Campaign and supported by Rugby First, Rugby Borough Council, local businesses, bike groups, clubs and organisations.
