Big changes for bus routes across Rugby borough
Stagecoach has a confirmed a number of radical changes to its bus services in Rugby, starting on January 5, which will leave parts of the borough with no buses.
The Advertiser previously obtained a document outlining the proposed changes, but now the bus operator has officially announced what alterations will be made.
Some of the key changes include the removal of service 1 and its replacement by hourly services 3 and 3A.
Long Lawford will no longer be served by 3, but the new 86 route will go through Long Lawford “up to every half hour”.
Service 4 will no longer service the Tesco stop at Elliott’s Field, instead serving the new stops on Leicester Road.
Journeys from the town centre to Clifton and North Kilworth have been withdrawn – but Stagecoach said Warwickshire County Council is seeking a replacement.
The Hillside and Rokeby estates will be left without bus services.
The county council is also seeking a replacement for these.
All journeys on service 64 have been withdrawn – except for the 6.04am Monday to Saturday journey from Rugby to Leamington, which will now run via Draycote Water, Stockton, Long Itchington and Southam.
The county council is seeking a replacement for service 64.
Service D4 from Daventry to Long Buckby has been withdrawn.
Stagecoach said Northamptonshire County Council are “reviewing their options” on the future of the service.
The service changes in Rugby come as part of a county-wide review that Stagecoach has conducted on its routes.
