Bikers from Rugby held a night of fun and fundraising and raised hundreds of pounds for two life-saving charities.

Members of Rugby Riders Action Group held their Ball in Hand fundraiser in aid of Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Warwickshire & Solihull Blood Bikes.

It took place St Thomas’s Cross pub near Rugby and featured popular local bands Tan.Trum, The Rattletones and Stonefire, who all played live on the outdoor stage.

A rock disco then took place inside, provided by Imperial BC.

Di Doyle, spokesman for Rugby RAG, said the group would like to thank everyone who supported the event.

She added: “Rugby RAG decided both the air ambulance and blood bikers were worthwhile recipients of their Ball in Hand fundraising as they both provide local rapid response, vital in emergency situations.

“Air ambulance is funded entirely by public and local business donations, receiving no Government or National Lottery funding.”

Rugby RAG presented both charities with cheques of £225 each last week at the Crow Pie pub in Bilton Road.
