An X Factor boy band featuring a young Bilton singer has been named one of Britain’s best bands that’s ‘nothing like One Direction’ by Teen Vogue.
The American magazine, owned by Vogue and aimed at youngsters, described Kingsland Road as ‘another gift from the X Factor’.
The band features Joe ‘Connor’ Conaboy, who grew up and went to school in Bilton, Rugby.
He said: “It’s so cool being in Teen Vogue. For them to list us as one of the best boy bands in the UK is an unreal feeling.”
The group, which includes Matt Cahill, JJ Thompson, and Josh Zaré, described their music as ‘dirty pop’ and released their debut album We Are The Young on March 15.
Following the success of their EP Dirty Dancer and sell-out UK tour last year, the boys are back on tour this month, starting in Manchester.
Their album will be released in the states in May and the band are set for a 13-date tour across the USA.
