A HUGE festival in Coventry has been cancelled due to bad weather, organisers have announced this morning (Friday).
The Godiva Festival has been cancelled due to ‘devastating weather’.
A statement posted on the official Godiva website simply reads: “Sadly Godiva Festival has been cancelled
“We’re really sorry but finally beaten by devastating weather. Torch Relay event is still on. More details to come.”
Steeped in a rich tradition the Godiva Festival continues to amaze audiences year on year.
Since 1998 the festival has been held in War Memorial Park, Coventry, although the beginnings were planted as far back as 1190 when monks cast from Coventry Priory told the story of their benefactress, Lady Godiva.
