A TEENAGER riding a motorbike has been airlifted to hospital following a crash near Dracote Water this afternoon (Monday).
Emergency services, including the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, were called to the A426 just after midday where there had been a collision between a car and motorbike.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Ambulance crews attended a collision involving a car and motorbike. The male motorcyclist was trapped by his arm when crews arrived on scene.
The patient received a serious arm fracture and pelvic injuries. He was immobilised at the scene with the use of a neck collar and spinal board and given pain relief before being airlifted to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment.”
The car driver, a woman in her 80s, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance crews.
The A426 Southam Road was closed in both directions but it has since reopened.
