BREAKING NEWS: police arrest Rugby man on suspicion of murder

Police have further arrested a 21 year old man from Rugby on suspicion of murder following an incident in Rugby town centre on Sunday morning.

Following the incident at 5am on Sunday (yesterday) near the taxi rank at the clock tower in Market Place, a man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire for assessment after suffering a head injury.

He was put on a life support machine but later died at 3.30am this morning (Monday).

The man who died has been formally identified by Warwickshire Police as 26 year old David Ryding of Moreton in Wirral, Merseyside.

It is known that several other people were in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed what took place.
