Leicester Road and Newbold Road in Rugby were both closed this morning due to two ‘major incidents’.
The A426 Leicester Road was closed from the Newbold Road junction earlier this morning.
At 12.46am this morning (Wednesday) @RugbyCops tweeted: “Serious incident Rugby. A426 Leicester Road closed from Avon Mill to Tesco.”
At 3.25am they tweeted again saying: “Unfortunately due to a second major incident the Newbold Road Rugby is now closed by the Avon Mill.”
At 6.18am a further tweet said: “Newbold Road fully open again. Leicester Road north still closed at Avon Mill. Fingers crossed open in an hour.”
UPDATE: It has been confirmed that one of the incidents was a fire that ripped through a Rugby scrap yard.
The second incident related to the death of a man in Leicester Road.
