Burglars target homes in Ashlawn Road, Murray Road, East Street, Seymour Road, Tom Brown Street, Earl Street and Queen Victoria Street in Rugby

POLICE are making Rugby residents aware of a number of burglaries across town during recent weeks.

Between 11.40am and 1.30pm on April 17 offenders smashed the rear patio doors of a home in Ashlawn Road and entered the house. Several items were stolen.

Between 8am and 12.20pm on April 17 offenders forced open the rear French doors of a home in Murray Road. This activated the intruder alarm and the offenders ran off. Nothing appears to have been stolen.

At just before 12.30pm on April 19 a witness reported that two men were climbing over a wall and entering a home in East Street. Police attended the scene and two offenders were arrested.

During the night of April 19 into April 20 offenders used a bladed instrument to force the rear patio doors of a home in Seymour Road off its runners. The offenders then entered the house to steal various items of electrical equipment and DVDs.

At 9.20pm on May 5 offenders used a brick to smash the rear patio door of a home in Tom Brown Street, Rugby. On hearing the noise, the resident of the house investigates and disturbed the offender who quickly ran off.

During the night of May 5 into May 6 offenders smashed the front window of a home in Earl Street and entered the house. Once inside, the offenders carried out an untidy search before stealing a laptop computer.

Just after 10pm on May 7 an offender smashed the front bay window of a home in Queen Victoria Street and entered the house. Several items were stolen.

A witness chased the offender who dropped a TV in a nearby street.

Between May 9 and 2 offenders forced open the front door of another home in Queen Victoria Road and entered the house to steal a television and items of jewellery.
