Hard work has paid off for a young apprentice plumber after he was given an award for his efforts.
Lee Maycock, 17, of Grasmere Close, was presented with a trophy and a certificate as the winner of this year’s SG Gibson award, given to apprentice plumbers in the Warwickshire area.
The award is named after the plumbers’ merchant which once stood in Little Church Street.
Lee, who studies his trade at Warwickshire College in Leamington and works in the Rugby area, took up plumbing because it is something enjoyable and satisfying for him to do every day.
Lee said: “The award will really help me to start my own business in the future.”
Lee wishes to thank Tad Zapenick for taking him on as apprentice.
