RUGBY Borough Council has been rewarded for supporting small businesses.
It as awarded the Best Small Business Friendly Programme or Campaign title as part of the Federation of Small Businesses’s (FSB) Local Authority Awards.
Cllr Craig Humphrey, leader of the council, and Anna Rose, head of planning, accepted the award on behalf of the borough council at a special awards lunch hosted by the FSB.
Cllr Humphrey said: “Now more than ever it is essential that we provide effective support for independent businesses in the town centre. We have put a lot of thought into how we can give new businesses the best possible chance of success which has resulted in our retail start up scheme which we run with Rugby First.”
