A SCHOOLGIRL from Rugby has enjoyed a cracking start to the new term after winning a design competition organised by housebuilder David Wilson East Midlands.

Five year old Bella Birch was chosen the winner ahead of her classmates after the housebuilder set the pupils of Brownsover Community School the challenge of designing and naming their very own Egghead character to coincide with the Easter holidays.

A presentation was recently held where David Wilson sales adviser, Sheila Bradford, was on hand to present third, second and first place winners with their prizes.

Winner Bella received a £30 Toys R Us voucher for her winning creation, whilst second-placed Jagoda Czuplak, six, received a £20 voucher and joint third place winners James Healy, three, and Natalia Wojcik, seven, both received £10 vouchers.

The winners were also presented with a Mini Eggs Easter egg.

Elisa Basnett, headteacher at Brownsover Community School, said: “I’d like to thank David Wilson for offering the school the chance to take part in this competition.

“The children thoroughly enjoyed being given the opportunity to get creative in the run up to the Easter holidays and Bella, Jagoda, James and Natalia were thrilled when they found out they had won.”

Philip Lacey, Sales Director at David Wilson, added “We were very impressed with the standard of the entries we received from the pupils and you could tell that the children put a lot of effort into designing their Egghead characters.

“But Bella’s creation stood out from the rest and was an obvious choice as the winner. Jagoda, James and Natalia did a fantastic job too and I’d like to congratulate all four winners.”

David Wilson offered the competition to Brownsover Community School as it is located close to its Oaklands development in Crackthorne Drive, Rugby.
