Joseph Morris Butchers has said goodbye to a colleague and friend of 40 years.
Butcher Raymond Carter has retired after working for the South Kilworth business.
Mr Carter, 65, said: “ It’s very sad to be leaving - it’s been a lifetime’s work. I had cards and presents from customers and some were in tears. I’ve been happy working at the butchers.”
A party for staff and friends will be held this Saturday to celebrate his time and dedication to the business.
Helen Watts, director of the company, said: “He’s been a loyal and valuable member of staff who’s never let us down. The customers will miss him as well.
“It will leave a hole in the business that will be very hard to replace.”
