Business in Rugby have been finding out how to persuade banks to lend them money.

A meeting hosted by Rugby Borough Council and the Federation of Small Businesses heard last Friday how five leading High Street banks can support small businesses with secure finance.

The businesses also heard from Mark Pawsey MP, who outlined government initiatives aimed at supporting commercial lending, including the proposed Business Bank.

A discussion, described by the council as “heated yet productive”, concluded with several businesses finding solutions to specific finance problems and banks receiving some feedback about how they can help customers.
