Will power at Brethertons

BRETHERTONS Solicitors have been celebrating the success of their Will Aid campaign.

The firm took appointments at their offices in Rugby, Banbury and London to draft Wills in order to raise funds for the Will Aid charities.

Clients were asked to consider making a donation rather than being charged the usual fee. The suggested donation was £75 for a single basic Will

and £110 for a pair of mirror Wills.

Solicitor Nadiya Virani-Bland said: “Brethertons have been extremely successful this year.

“Over 165 wills were produced for clients and we have been overwhelmed by the community’s support for Will Aid and for Bretherton’s participation.

The scheme has enabled us to make a very substantial contribution to the Will Aid charities.

“Drafting 165 Wills required a lot of dedication and hard work but was well worth the effort.

“Our clients have really appreciated the fact that we give up our time for free to support charities.”

Brethertons have raised in more than £11,500 for WillAid this year alone and £23,000 over the past four years.

Iain McAndrew, head of legacies at Save the Children and chairman of Will Aid, said: “I congratulate Bretherton Solicitors for all their hard work

and for being such enthusiastic supporters of Will Aid.

“It is a real achievement to have drafted so many wills for clients to raise this enormous sum in just a few weeks.

“The participating charities are really grateful for the life saving work this makes possible. We’d also like to thank all those people locally who

were motivated to make their will with Will Aid.”

Readers who missed out in 2010 will have another opportunity to write their Will with Will Aid in November this year.
