RUGBY’S annual Spring Fair will this year be held in Caldecott Park.
Organisers of the popular event, which attracts thousands of visitors each year, have decided to move the venue and change the format of the fair due to the ongoing building work at the Ken Marriot Leisure Centre.
So instead of being held at the Whitehall Recreation Ground, the 2012 event will take place at Caldecott Park on Bank Holiday Monday (May 7) and will be called the Rugby Music Festival.
Gates to the event, which is organised by the Rotary Club of Rugby Dunsmore and sponsored by Asda, will open at 2pm and the entertainment will run from 4pm till 8pm including the Rugby FM Road Show with Jason Moss and the final of Rugby’s Got Talent.
The 2011 competition winner Holly Aires will perform, as well as singer Emily Burns, Michel Bouble tribute (Jordan Williams) and Rugby’s four-piece indie rock Band, Dukes Jetty .
Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children. Family tickets cost £5. The usual fun fair and refreshment stalls will also be there. Proceeds from the event will go to Rotary charities including the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
