Kind-hearted volunteers have been collecting food to support Rugby families in need.
Helpers were joined by Rugby’s MP Mark Pawsey at the Leicester Road store last week as he helped the team sort through donations for Rugby Foodbank. He said: “I was very happy to be able to once again join the local volunteers at Tesco, who so kindly give up their time to collect donations for the Rugby Foodbank. I am always amazed at the generosity shown by the people of Rugby during these community initiatives and this Christmas collection was no exception. This time of year is difficult for many families and the Foodbank helps support them and truly does make a difference.” The Neighbourhood Food Collection, supported by Tesco, has donated more than 27.5 million meals to people in need across the UK since 2012.
