Rugby businesses and organisations are invited to a briefing to discuss the town’s plans for the Rugby World Cup in 2015.

Rugby Borough Council will host the event at the Merchant’s Inn, Little Church Street, on October 23.

Guests should arrive at 5.30pm for a 6pm start.

The meeting will cover events and activities, visitor experience, destination management, place marketing, and making the most of visitors.

Cllr Michael Stokes, leader of Rugby Borough Council, said: “The world cup is one of the largest sporting events in the world.

“It’s not likely to be held in the UK again for many years so it is vital that we make the most of the opportunity that next year’s tournament brings.

“The council has been preparing for some time and is now able to share more information about its plans.

“I’m very keen for businesses and organisations to get involved and this briefing will help them to understand how they can do just that.”

Representatives of businesses or organisations who would like to attend the briefing must register in advance.
