Children enjoy football camp.

It’s part of an expansion by Daventry Rangers, who want to reach out and engage more young people in sport.

All sessions are take place at Hill Street community centre from 9am - 3pm.

There are three different activities on offer across six days.

Lead coach Matthew Edgar, said: “We are a community interest group who offer sport to Daventry and surrounding areas.

“Our club is affiliated with Northampton Association of Youth Clubs, dodgeball association and the FA. This summer we are looking to host some camps in Rugby as part of our expansion beyond our current sites and in order to reach and engage more children.”

He said the goal is to engage as many children in sport as possible.

“We also want to signpost them into long term sustainable positions in sport,” he added.

“Each week we offer sport to 350+ children per week in Daventry and Northampton at the most affordable rates to parents in order to remove barriers to children taking part.”

They use only professional sport coaches for the sessions.

Matthew said: “In order to cater for as many children as possible we will be hosting football, multi-sports and detective camps and if successful these session will be sustained for future half term holidays.”

Camps start at £10.66 per day. For more details visit email
