Children get creative in Rugby to celebrate World Book Day

It must be a good day when you can go to school dressed as your favourite book character.

There was plenty of fun to be had for all ages when World Book Day took place last Thursday.

World Book Day is a partnership of publishers, booksellers and interested parties who work together to promote books and reading for the personal enrichment and enjoyment of all.

Scores of children, parents and teachers let their imaginations run wild as they dressed up as their favourite characters from books.

The theme was entertaining and the overall message was clear – that reading is fun.

There were many princesses and superheroes at Bright Horizons Rugby Beehive Nursery and Preschool.

Nursery manager, Nicola Patel, said: “Throughout the year we try to foster a life-long love of reading as part of our Growing Readings bespoke programme. The World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the favourite children’s stories of all time and the enjoyment of reading.”
