Cigarettes stolen in Warwick car park robbery

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after cigarettes were stolen in a robbery at Bookers Cash and Carry car park on Nelson Lane, Warwick.

The robbery happened at 9.50am on Friday after a man came out of the cash and carry with boxes of cigarettes on a trolley and a black vehicle containing three men pulled up behind him.

One of the men got out of the car and started throwing the cigarettes from the trolley into the black car.

The owner of the cigarettes tried to retrieve his cigarettes and the car started to drive off with him inside and the door open, but stopped and let him out a short distance from the car park.

No weapons were seen and the man was uninjured.

The black car drove out of the car park and turned right into Nelson Lane towards Coventry Road and met up with a grey Estate in Nelson Lane.

The two cars headed off in convoy along Coventry Road in the direction of the Warwick bypass.
