PEOPLE who have booked parties in the function room at Rugby Lions feel left in the dark since the change of ownership.
John Moore visited the clubhouse 12 times to find out what was going on with his daughter’s pre-booked party on New Year’s Eve.
He said: “We have found another venue for Alex’s 30th now because we got fed up of waiting.
“I tried to contact someone from the new set-up, without success.”
Mr Moore added: “I visited the clubhouse around 12 times but it was locked up at the gate. All I wanted to know was would the clubhouse be ready for my daughter’s birthday party?”
Jane Bourne said her husband had booked a party for September 17.
She said: “We paid a £70 deposit and had invitations printed costing £52.
“In May we had a phone call to say the club had been taken over and would be closed for refurbishment.
We were also told that they would refund our deposit. Since then I have heard nothing despite phone messages and emails.
Lions’ chief executive officer Andy Key said: “We are disappointed that there are some dissatisfied customers out there and we want to resolve this as quickly as possible.”
