Connells bucks the trend simply by getting on the job

Despite the housing market remaining generally static, the Connells Group sold 3.6 per cent more properties during 2012 than in 2011.

The figure is in stark contrast to those recently produced by the Land Registry which reports a 1.1 per cent fall in housing transactions in England and Wales during the same period.

Steve Bell of Connells in Rugby said: “2012 certainly wasn’t easy, but while many other agents were complaining about the Jubilee and Olympics distracting people from house sale and purchase, we continued to be pro-active and just worked even harder to get results.

“Taking Connells’ figures for properties sold as a percentage of the Land Registry total, we work out that Connells increased its market share of estate agency sales by almost 5 per cent last year, a remarkable achievement considering that we already have a very strong share of the market.”

While the housing market remained difficult, Connells managed to drive up sales, their vendors benefitting from the company’s marketing of their properties such as the award -winning Six Week Challenge campaign which ran over the summer and the revamped web site and newspaper property advertisements. Steve added: “We are constantly looking at new ways of promoting properties to give our vendors as much advantage as possible over the competition. We also offer a comprehensive range of services including surveys, conveyancing and in-house mortgage consultants to try and make the whole moving process as smooth as possible. “
