County woodland set to be improved

Sita - an independent funding body set up to distribute money through the Landfill Communities Fund - has just awarded Warwickshire Wildlife Trust £92,503 to allow both volunteers and local landowners to carry out a range of improvement projects.

And while Princethorpe is a key area for protection, the money will also make a difference to conservation work between Cubbington and Coombe Country Park as well as the trust’s nature reserves at Ryton and Wappenbury.

The two reserves support rare plants and butterflies such as the Wood White and Purple Emperor.

The trust’s restoration officer Steven Falk said: “This is a great opportunity for people to help shape this incredibly valuable patch of Warwickshire - please get in touch if you would like to take part.”
