A passing couple stopped to help a woman marooned in a ford near Rugby after she had attempted to drive through it.
Churchover residents James Tailby, 22, and Paula Strong, 21, were on their way to collect a takeaway when they heard the woman screaming for help.
She had tried to drive through Churchover ford but became trapped in her vehicle, surrounded by the fast-flowing water.
A car had already attempted to pass the ford earlier the same day and the driver had to be rescued. The vehicle was still in the water at the time the woman tried to drive through the ford.
James climbed on to the roof of the woman’s car and reassured her while he phoned the emergency services and explained their location.
Two fire engines rushed to the scene, along with police officers and an ambulance crew.
The incident happened on December 27 at 5.55pm.
