Creative student from Princethorpe wins £200 for school

Two creative students were selected as winners in a writing competition.

It was held by the Campaign to Protect Rural England Warwickshire and the theme was the countryside.

The winning stories were written by Cassius Taylor from Our Lady’s Roman Catholic School in Princethorpe, who won £200 for the school.

Second prize went to Jessica Batchelor from Cawston Grange Primary School.

A shortlist of 18 was sent to author Bill Bryson who selected the two winners.

He said: “All entries are remarkably splendid and stunning well presented.

“The spelling and punctuation are impeccable, and the writing skills very impressive, so they have all done very well, and it was genuinely difficult to come up with a winner.”
