Crews battle blaze at derelict Rugby house

A derelict house in Rugby was alight for almost two hours after a blaze spread through the first floor on Tuesday evening.

Firefighters rushed to the house in Mill Street just after 7.15pm on Tuesday January 26 following a number of calls from neighbours reporting the growing blaze.

Crews found flames in the first floor of the derelict property, with flames spreading into about half of the building during the evening.

Two engines from Rugby were sent but a third was requested once crews arrived on scene and saw the extent of the damage.

The blaze was extinguished after around two hours but it is not yet known how the fire started.
