BREAKING NEWS: Armed robbery at the post office in Boughton Road

POLICE are investigating an armed robbery in Rugby this morning (Tuesday).

Just after 9.30am two men went into the post office in Boughton Road and one threatened a member of staff with a gun before they stole with a quantity of cash from the till.

No one was injured during the incident.

It is thought that the offenders made their escape in a silver Vauxhall Corsa which was being driven by a third male.

Police received a report of a vehicle answering that description being driven erratically in the Butlers Leap area of Rugby though its destination is unknown.

The main offender is described as a white male, approximately 6’4’’ in height and of a slim build. He was wearing a black hat and his face was covered with a light blue scarf. He was also wearing a black jacket and black or blue trousers.

Neighbouring forces have been alerted to the incident.
