FOLLOWING a series of dawn raids this morning (Tuesday), a further 12 people have been arrested.
The arrests were all part of Operation Laser, the ongoing operation to tackle serious and organised crime in Warwickshire.
Eleven of the arrests today were made in Rugby, with one further arrest being made in Coventry. The arrests include ten males and two females aged between 18 years and 55 years.
This brings the total number of arrests made in the past week as part of Operation Laser to 45. All the arrests have been on suspicion of the supply of Class A drugs, such as heroin and crack cocaine, and handling stolen property.
Operation Laser is the single largest operation to tackle the supply of Class A drugs that has been carried out in the county.
More than 300 police officers and staff have been involved in the planning and enforcement of the operation. The arrests over the past week are the culmination of over 12 months of planning and development.
The operation has been largely intelligence led and police appeal to the public to come forward with information regarding any type of criminality within their neighbourhoods.
