BREAKING NEWS: Sixth man arrested in Wentworth Road stabbing probe

A SIXTH person has been arrested in connection with an incident in which a man a stabbed.

It occurred at a property in Wentworth Road, Rugby, at approximately 9.20am on Thursday 18 August. During the incident, an 18 year old male was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire after suffering a stab injury that resulted in a punctured lung. He is in a stable condition.

A 53 year old man, two 19 year old men an 18 year old man and a 17 year old man have all been arrested on suspicion of assault GBH with intent. A forty-five year old female was also arrested in connection with the investigation and has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The five men are currently in custody today where they are being questioned by officers.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Wentworth Road who saw a silver or blue metallic coloured Seat containing two people in the area at around 9.20am on Thursday 18 August. Following the incident, the Seat was abandoned after colliding with the traffic lights in Buchanan Road and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this and saw the occupants make off.
