BREAKING NEWS: three teenagers being questioned by Rugby police after boy dies in Parkfield Road van crash


Police are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Parkfield Road, Rugby yesterday (Wednesday).

The collision occurred when a Peugeot white panel van travelling along Parkfield Road from the direction of the relief road, lost control colliding with a lamppost just after 4.30pm.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said this morning: “During the collision, a 17 year old male was ejected from the van.

“The air ambulance attended the scene and paramedics attempted to save the male, but he was declared dead at the scene.”

Road closures were put in place at the junction of Parkfield Road and Lea Crescent and the junction of Parkfield Road with Main Street to allow emergency services to attend the scene.

Three males, aged 13, 15 and 19 years old, are being questioned by officers in connection with the incident.
