Co-op staff threatened with knife and hammer in Wolston robbery

Staff were threatened with a knife and hammer during a robbery at the Co-operative store in Wolston this morning (Wednesday).

The incident was reported shortly before 7am.

Two people wearing balaclavas forced their way into the School Road store and threatened staff with a knife and a hammer.

No-one was injured.

One offender made off in a white Citroen car with cash from the till.

One person has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been taken into custody for questioning.

Anyone who was in the Wolston area this morning and saw any suspicious activity, or has any information which may help police with their enquiries, is asked to contact Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident Incident 39 of February 18.
