But after a chase, he was caught - and also found to be uninsured and in possession of drugs

A disqualified driver abandoned his car while it was still moving after police asked him to pull over near Rugby.

But after a chase, he was caught by officers.

Police spotted the Vauxhall Astra in Wolston yesterday (Saturday) after it showed up on their records as having no insurance.

"We turned to speak to the driver who decided they weren't going to hang about, " said OPU Warwickshire officers.

"The driver abandoned the car whilst it was moving and took to his toes.

"After a short foot chase he was caught and found to be a disqualified driver."

The passenger also had cannabis on them and was given a fixed penalty notice.

The vehicle was seized and driver reported to court.
