A delivery driver had their car seized when it emerged that they had taken a bizarre approach to insuring themselves.

Officers from OPU (Operational Patrol Unit) Warwickshire stopped the Seat Ibiza on Sunday, April 11, on the A45 between Ryton and Coventry.

A spokesperson for the police explained: "The driver decided to insure his car to a relative's restaurant in Gloucestershire rather than his home address in Coventry.

"The driver was also delivering for two well-known online food and shop delivery companies without any valid business cover.

"The driver has been reported for the offence of driving without correct Insurance and the vehicle has been seized."
