A retired police officer charged with the theft of £113,000 cash from Warwickshire Police is due at court again on Monday for the second time.

Paul Andrew Greaves, who is charged with the theft of a quantity of cash from Warwickshire Police, will appear before magistrates in Leamington for the second time on Monday, June 3.

Greaves pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared in court on May 22, and the case was adjourned until July for committal to crown court after the court advised that it should follow old style proceedings.

This was an error by the court, and the hearing has been brought forward so that the case can be sent to crown court under the new provisions.

Greaves remains on conditional bail.
