A man has been injured during a firearm incident in Rugby today (Saturday).

Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the incident in Grosvenor Road and Boughton Road at around 5pm this evening.

Police were still at the scene late tonight.

The injured man, who is in his 20s, has been taken to hospital, although his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Det Insp Martyn Kendall said: “This is currently being treated as an isolated incident, and an investigation has been launched.

“Two males are currently in police custody. More information will be issued when available.”
