Offenders broke into council recycling centre in Rugby, stealing red diesel and emptying the clothing banks

Unknown offenders broke into the Hunters Lane Waste Recycling Centre, stealing red diesel and emptying the clothes banks.

The incidents happened on the evening of Sunday, February 2, and on 9am the next day (during the winter the centre opens at 9.30am).

The offenders damaged security equipment and fencing to gain access to the Warwickshire County Council site.

They then took 60 litres of red diesel from one of the vehicles – spilling fuel on the floor in the process.

They then tipped over recycling bins, and emptied the clothing banks.

No description of offenders is currently available, but police are currently examining CCTV footage.
