Police ask for public help after a number of arson attacks across New Bilton

ARSONISTS lit fires in a numbers of locations across New Bilton at the weekend.

Just after 2am on Saturday a number of fires were reported to police and fire service.

Fires were lit in bins in locations including Pinfold Street, Jubilee Street, Eliott Court and Lawford Bridge Close.

In two of the locations the fire spread to trees, a garage and a shed.

According to police, it was through the quick actions of firefighters that averted any further damage being caused.

A spokesman for the Rugby Town West police team said: “The police are taking these acts of deliberate arson very seriously and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Any information from around the time of the offence is required as are any details of people that may have since boasted of their exploits.”
