Police asked Rugby driver for proof of insurance - the driver's response was rather odd

On the night of November 21, traffic officers pulled over a black Honda because it was showing as being uninsured.

The car was stopped just off the A426 and officers from Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) Warwickshire then asked the driver to show them a certificate of insurance.

The driver instead showed police an email from September which confirmed their car insurance had been cancelled.

And when officers conducted further checks, they found that the driver only holds a provisional licence.

Officers seized the car and the driver has been reported to court.
