Three police officers and two controllers have been rewarded for their actions which helped save the life of a man after he was stabbed in Rugby town centre.

Police Sergeant Daniel Salt, PCs Hollie Byrne and Edmund Murray, and controllers Tara Robins and Darren Muddyman were part of a team deployed to the incident in January this year.

Officers pursued two suspects on foot whilst others protected the scene and, as a result of clear communication and instruction, arrests were quickly made and evidence secured.

Around 30 Warwickshire Police officers, staff and volunteers were presented with local policing awards to mark their dedication and professionalism. The team were presented with their awards at a ceremony at Wolston community centre on Tuesday night this week.
