The woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and, because the woman had a child with her at the time, of child neglect.

The Rugby PCSO was one of four Warwickshire police officers who were attacked over the weekend.

On Friday an officer was allegedly kicked in the head in Bedworth, while two further attacks on officers in Nuneaton took place on Sunday.

In three instances arrests were made and, in the fourth, a man was detained under the Mental Health Act.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said that fortunately, no officers were badly injured.
