Staffordshire Bull Terrier attacks police officer in Long Lawford

A POLICE officer has been badly bitten on his leg by a dog.

According to Warwickshire Police, officers were in the Elizabeth Way area of Long Lawford dealing with another matter on August 18 when a Staffordshire Bull Terrier escaped from a house and attacked a police officer causing deep lacerations to his leg.

Officers arrested the female owner of the dog for allowing her dog to be dangerously out of control.

She has since been charged with the offence and the dog has been seized.

The police officer was discharged from hospital and has returned to duty.
