A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after he allegedly spat at a police officer in Rugby town centre.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 6, a police officer was responding to a report of a fight on Chapel Street.

It was at this incident where the officer was allegedly spat at.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and later released under investigation while enquiries continue.

This arrest was one of three made in relation to attacks on police across the county in recent days.

On Sunday a pool cue-wielding teenage boy was arrested in Nuneaton after allegedly headbutting an officer.

And on Monday an 18-year-old man was arrested after allegedly headbutting and biting an officer in Nuneaton.

The two arrested in Nuneaton have been charged and they await their court appearances.
