Two more arrests after Hillmorton stabbing, victim in critical but stable condition in hospital

Detectives have arrested two teenagers on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Hillmorton yesterday, February 7.

Yesterday police were called to Balcombe Road at 12.21pm - when they arrived they found a man in his twenties with serious stab wounds.

Eyewitnesses told the Advertiser that the road was cordoned off while paramedics and an air ambulance attended the scene.

That afternoon police arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder, and he remains in custody.

Then overnight officers arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, both from Rugby.

The victim remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

Detective Chief Inspector Jon Belcher from Warwickshire Police CID said: “This was a horrific attack in broad daylight which has understandably caused a great deal of alarm in the local community.

“We are carrying out a thorough investigation and have three people in custody. There will be a high police presence in the area today and we’re continuing to appeal to the public for information that could help with our enquiries.”

Police are keen to speak to any witnesses, anyone with dash cam footage from the area or any other information should call 101 quoting incident 120 of 7 February 2021.
