Victim injured after two men armed with scythes smash through car windscreen in Rugby's Elliott's Field

A man was left with an injury to his head when two men armed themselves with scythes and smashed their way through a car windscreen in Rugby last week.

The incident occurred at around 3.59pm on Wednesday, March 31, in the Elliott's Field car park off Leicester Road.

Two men, armed with the agricultural implements jumped out of a white Mitsubishi Shogun and began smashing the windscreen of stationary black Land Rover Discovery.

The driver of the Land Rover then sped off, but not before much of the vehicle's windscreen had been destroyed.

After being contacted by residents, the Advertiser spoke with Warwickshire Police.

A spokesperson for the police confirmed that the incident had been reported to them and, while there had so far been no arrests, there is an investigation.
