Warwickshire Police make more drink-driving arrests

Warwickshire Police made more drink-driving arrests over the weekend.

Officers arrested six people on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol in and around the county - including in Southam and Rugby.

Here is a list provided by Warwickshire Police of the people who were arrested:

~ A 30-year-old woman was arrested and later charged with drink driving, possession of cannabis and driving without insurance after officers spotted a driver acting suspiciously at Shushstoke Reservoir, Coleshill in the early hours of Saturday morning.

~ An 18-year-old man from Nuneaton was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and driving without a licence following a collision in Hanbury Road, Bedworth in the early hours of Sunday morning. He was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker after it is alleged a police officer was spat at.

~ A 24-year-old man from Southam area was arrested and charged with drink driving after he was spotted on CCTV falling over after getting out of his car in Wood Street Car Park, Southam. He will appear at Warwickshire Magistrates’ Court on March 12.

~ A 54-year-old man from Rugby was arrested in Long Furlow, Rugby and later charged with drink driving. He was arrested after officers received reports of him driving under the influence of alcohol. He will appear at Warwickshire Magistrates’ Court on March 19.

~ A 29-year-old woman from Rugby was arrested and charged with drink driving, driving without a licence and driving while disqualified after officers stopped a car in Hillary Road, Rugby on Sunday evening (January 11).

~ A 34-year-old man from Leicestershire was arrested and charged with drink driving, dangerous driving, failing to stop for officers, driving while disqualified and aggravated vehicle taking after a stinger was used to stop his car on the M42 on Sunday morning (January 11).
