A PUB landlord and some of his regular customers will be climbing the three highest mountains in the UK to raise money for charity.
Alan Finch, landlord of the Crow Pie in Bilton Road, Rugby will join a group of customers in attempting to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
Alan sais: “I will definitely be with them but I’m 68 years old now so I’m not sure if I’ll do it all but I’ll have a dabble.”
The group will be raising money for the Ben Jones Memorial Fund, which provides money to send sick children on special trips.
Over the last few years the Crow Pie has teamed up with the Squirrel pub and the Crow Pie Fishing Club to raise thousands of pounds for the charity.
The group will leave climb Ben Nevis in Scotland on Monday, July 4, followed by Scafell Pike in Cumbria the next day.
They will then drive to Wales on the Wednesday to tackle Snowdon, before enjoying a well earned rest on the Thursday.
Alan said: “They are all working really hard training for it. We’ve raised £3,500 so far and are just hoping we can raise as much as we can.”
