Dad braves the shave in memory of mum and sister

A Rugby dad who lost his mother and sister to cancer is appealing for donations when he braves the shave.

Colin Taylor, of Spring Street, has raised hundreds of pounds so far to help Macmillan Cancer Support.

“My mother Jean died from cancer 20 years ago,” said Colin.

“I also lost my sister Susan to the disease and a friend who I worked with.”

Colin, who is married to Ildiko and is dad to Ashton, 20, Erika, ten, wanted to do something as a tribute to the people he has lost.

“I’m not worried about the shave at all,” he said.

“I’ve had it done before and I know it’s for a really good cause.”

The cut is taking place at Bailie’s barbers, Lawrence Sheriff Street, on Friday.

He said: “I haven’t set a target, I just to raise as much money as possible to help others.

“Everyone has been touched by cancer in some way. It’s good to be able to give something back to those who help us.”
