An animal lover is putting on a tribute night in Rugby to take the blues away.

Julia Kawecki is staging a Blues Brothers evening with a much-respected act at the Railway Club in Hillmorton Road on November 11.

It will raise money for the Rugby branch of Cats Protection.

“Join us for a night of fun and dancing and also help to raise vital funds for Cats Protection,” Julia said.

“This Blues brothers tribute band will get everyone on their feet and create an atmosphere like no other.”

“During the evening’s festivities we will also be serving a ploughman’s supper and holding a high end raffle and the bar will be open all night.”

For tickets visit and search for Blues Brothers Tribute or contact Helen Parkes on 01384 895082. Email

Doors at the Railway Club open at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 including a ploughman’s supper.

Julia, who started volunteering last December, added: “It should be a really excellent entertaining evening out and we hope to see lots of people there.”

I started volunteering last December and have been keen to organise a (biggish) event to help raise funds.”

The charity needs more volunteers to give whatever time they can spare.
