DEVASTATING revelations, clandestine relationships and dark secrets will be laid bare on the Rugby Theatre stage from Saturday.

A talented cast is performing Dangerous Corner, the first play written by JB Priestley. It’s one of trilogy of ‘time plays’, along with Time and The Conways and, most famously, An Inspector Calls.

In Dangerous Corner, Robert and Freda Caplan are entertaining guests, all of whom are associated in the same publishing company for which Robert works.
A chance remark by one of the guests is all it takes for hitherto unseen drama to unfold. As one key line puts it, “telling the truth is about as healthy as skidding round a corner at 60.”

Priestley suggests it might have been better if that corner had never been turned.

Ashley Hirons directs the play, with a cast including Jonathan Pollard, Ann Cooper, Adam Trezise, Nicky Main and Nick Marsh.

Dangerous Corner runs from November 17 to 24, although there is no show on Sunday. Tickets: £11. Call the box office on (01788) 541234.
